“it was great to have a guide and chauffeur to get to the places. however, it was not very well planned: we arrived 1 hour too early to the guided tour of cullinan and bought coffee for everybody while waiting. we ended up having lunch at a fast food, although we would have preferred something more south african and we felt like obliged to invite the guide and chauffeur. the guide knew very little about the history of Paul Kruger and the afrikaners. they did not know that the union buildings were closed on saturday and we lost time looking for the entrance without success.”
